What services does NuLeaf Clinics provide?

NuLeaf Clinics offers telehealth consultations with qualified practitioners who provide support for a range of health concerns, including exploring alternative natural healthcare and general practice (including weight management). All care is delivered in accordance with current medical guidelines and regulatory standards.

Do I need to book a follow-up consultation?

You will need to book a follow-up consultation if your repeats have expired, if your health has changed, or if your practitioner has requested a review. Our patient care team can check your file and let you know when you’re due for your next follow-up consultation.

Can I change my practitioner?

Yes. You can request to see a different practitioner for your follow-up appointment. We’ll securely transfer your notes to support continuity of care. Each practitioner may take a different approach based on medical judgement and your health needs.

What appointment times are available?

NuLeaf Clinics offers flexible appointment times Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am–7:00 pm. Availability varies by practitioner and time zone.

How do I know if my prescription has expired?

Our patient care team will send reminders before your medical script expires. You can also confirm with the dispensing pharmacy.

How many repeats do I have on my script?

For the most accurate dispensing information and history, please contact the pharmacy directly.

How do I order my medication?

Once your medical script has been sent to the pharmacy, please contact the pharmacy within 24-48 hours to place your order and make payment so they can arrange dispensing. You will receive an SMS with the pharmacy details following your appointment.

What happens if my prescription expires?

You will need to book a follow-up consultation. Expired prescriptions cannot be dispensed.

Can I change my medication after my prescription has been issued?

Requests to change medication or treatment (e.g., formulation or dose) require a follow-up consultation with a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner. Changes are only made by the Practitioner if clinically appropriate.

How long does a pharmacy take to process an order?

Most pharmacies need 24 to 48 hours to dispense once the order has been placed and payment has been made. Your practitioner will send the prescription; delivery time depends on the pharmacy, the product required and your location.

Can approvals or dispensing be fast-tracked?

No. We can’t expedite approvals or pharmacy processes. Please plan reviews and renewals in advance to avoid gaps in therapy.

Can I pick up on the same day?

Some pharmacies may offer same-day collections if they have stock. Please call your pharmacy to confirm before ordering.

Is alternative healthcare right for my condition?

It depends on your history and current health. In your consultation, a practitioner will review your health summary, symptoms and health goals to determine if an alternative approach could appropriately support your care.

Do I need a consultation before starting?

Yes. A real-time telehealth consultation with a qualified practitioner is required to determine suitability before any prescribing decision. You can also book a free nurse consultation to discuss any questions you may have about the process.

What do you mean by “alternative approaches to healthcare”?
These are approaches that complement or differ from conventional care including natural alternative healthcare options. Our qualified practitioners discuss options that may be appropriate for your individual needs. Not every approach is right for everyone.
What should I prepare for my first telehealth appointment?
Complete the online booking form, provide required consents, and upload a recent health summary from your GP. Join the call from a private space with a reliable connection and have your current medicines and relevant history ready. Ensure you can answer calls from private numbers on your phone.
What conditions are not suitable for telehealth care?
Telehealth is not suitable for emergencies or urgent, life-threatening concerns. Call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department. Your practitioner may recommend in-person assessment, GP review, or specialist referral if telehealth is not appropriate.
What if I miss or need to cancel my telehealth appointment?

You can cancel or reschedule in advance via our friendly team. Missed or late changes may incur a fee under our cancellation policy.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my appointment?
Refunds depend on the timing of your cancellation and our clinic’s policy. Appointments cancelled with sufficient notice are typically refundable.

Travelling With Medication

Can I drive when taking medication?
All medications are different and have different side effects. If you receive a prescription from your practitioner, please discuss your eligibility to legally drive.
Can you travel overseas with medications?

The first thing to consider when travelling with medications, is to know the laws your country of transit has.

Some alternative medications are still banned in many countries. Don’t risk your life by taking chances; research before you leave, including contacting the country’s embassy or consulate for information, as well as the embassy or consulate of any transit countries.

Can I travel interstate with medication?
In Australia, each state or territory legislation is slightly different, and each has their own requirements. If you are travelling interstate, your medication must have been lawfully prescribed by a practitioner who holds the relevant approval. All alternative medication products need to be dispensed and labelled by a pharmacist/pharmacy, nurse practitioner or doctor.

Health Summary

Will I need to provide a health summary?

Your practitioner may request background medical information to help assess the healthcare most appropriate for you. This information supports a safe and informed discussion and helps the practitioner understand your medical history and current circumstances. This can be particularly important if certain prescription options are being considered, as these are subject to strict assessment and approval processes.

Acceptable documentation may include a recent GP health summary, a referral or letter from your GP, or other medical records that outline your health history or previous care. Not all patients will be required to provide the same information, and requirements may vary based on individual circumstances.

What is a health summary?

A health summary is a document prepared by your regular GP or medical clinic. It includes key information such as your current and past medical conditions, medications, allergies, and immunisation history.

You only need to provide this once, unless your health circumstances change.

Can I give NuLeaf Clinics permission to request a health summary from my GP?

Yes. You can provide consent for NuLeaf Clinics to request your health summary directly from your GP on your behalf.

A link to the consent form will be sent to you via SMS once you book your appointment.

You can also view and complete the consent form here: https://nuleafclinics.com.au/healthsummary/

What if I don’t have a regular GP?

To be eligible for treatment at NuLeaf Clinics, you must have previously sought medical advice or plan for your condition.

Without a valid health summary from a healthcare provider, you may not be eligible for treatment.

Weight Management

What happens during a weight management consultation?

During your appointment, a qualified healthcare Doctor will discuss your medical history, current lifestyle, and health goals. Based on this, they will explore suitable options and work with you to develop a personalised care plan that aligns with your needs and clinical circumstances.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is needed. You can book a weight management consultation directly via our website or contact our support team on 1300 558 558.

Who will I speak with during my appointment?

Your consultation will be conducted by a Doctor experienced in weight management and general healthcare.  They will take a considered approach based on your individual circumstances.

Will I receive a meal plan or medication?

Your Doctor may also provide general dietary guidance or discuss treatment options if clinically appropriate. Any suggestions made will be tailored to your medical history and health profile. Specific recommendations, including medications if suitable, will be explained to support informed decision-making.

Can medications be prescribed for weight management?

Medications may be prescribed if your Doctor determines that they are clinically appropriate for your situation. You will be provided with relevant information, including potential benefits and risks, to help you make an informed choice.

Is this a one-time consultation or an ongoing service?

Your first consultation helps lay the groundwork for your care. Ongoing appointments may be recommended to review progress, provide support, and adjust your plan as needed. Follow-up consultations help promote consistency and long-term results.

How long does the appointment take?

Initial appointments typically last up to 20 minutes, allowing time for discussion and to begin developing your individual care plan.

General Practice

What types of general health issues can I discuss in a GP consultation?

NuLeaf’s practitioners can assist with a broad range of common health concerns, including fatigue, stress, sleep issues, low energy, minor infections, and preventative health. If your condition requires in-person examination or specialist care, we may recommend follow-up with your regular GP or another provider.

How are consultations delivered?

All GP consultations at NuLeaf are delivered via secure telehealth – either phone or video – allowing you to speak to an Australian-registered practitioner from the comfort of your home.

Can I get prescriptions through a NuLeaf GP consultation?

If clinically appropriate, your practitioner may issue a prescription based on your health needs. All plan decisions are made following a thorough medical assessment during your consultation. Not all consultations result in a prescription.

What if I need a medical certificate?

You may request a medical certificate during your appointment. If your practitioner deems it clinically appropriate, they can issue a certificate that will be emailed to you after your consultation.

Do I need a referral to book?

No referral is required to access NuLeaf’s GP services.

Can I use this service for emergencies?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency or urgent symptoms, please contact 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
