Attending your appointment is one of the first steps in discussing your healthcare needs with a practitioner. But what happens once your consultation is complete?
Everyone’s circumstances are different, and the next steps will depend on the discussion with your practitioner and your individual needs.
Here’s a general overview of what you can expect after a telehealth consultation with NuLeaf Clinics.
What Happens During the Consultation?
Your consultation is an opportunity to discuss your medical history, current health concerns and wellness goals with a qualified practitioner.
During your appointment, your practitioner will consider the information discussed before determining the most appropriate next steps based on your individual circumstances.
Depending on your consultation, this may include providing general healthcare advice, discussing management or treatment options, recommending further investigations or arranging follow-up care where appropriate.
Every Care Plan Is Individual
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healthcare.
Recommendations made during or after your consultation are based on your individual health history, symptoms, current medications and other relevant factors. What is appropriate for one person may not be appropriate for another.
Your practitioner may also advise that additional information or assessments are needed before making any recommendations.
If you are prescribed a treatment plan during your consultation, your prescription may be sent to a pharmacy for dispensing. NuLeaf Clinics can coordinate this for you, or you may choose to have your prescription sent to your preferred pharmacy. Any prescription is subject to clinical assessment and individual suitability.
You May Be Asked to Arrange a Follow-Up
Depending on your personal circumstances, the practitioner may recommend a follow-up consultation.
A follow-up consultation provides an opportunity to:
- discuss how you’ve been progressing
- review any changes since your previous consultation
- answer any new questions
- reassess your individual circumstances where appropriate.
The timing of any follow-up appointments will depend on your healthcare needs and your practitioner’s recommendations.
Your Questions Are Always Welcome
It’s common to think of additional questions after your appointment.

Looking After Your Health Between Appointments
Healthcare often involves more than a single consultation.
Between appointments, it can be helpful to:
- follow any advice provided by your healthcare practitioner
- make note of any changes you’d like to discuss at your next appointment
- keep a list of questions as they arise
- attend any recommended follow-up appointments or investigations.
